The CT directory gathers key facts and figures about human trafficking in more than 80 countries. It also contains useful contacts to refer the victim or potential victim according to his/her profile: s/he can be in need of immediate protection, need further counselling, wish to stay in the country of destination, or ask to return back to his/her home country. According to the option s/he chooses, s/he might be entitled to different assistance schemes.

An awareness-raising campaign against human trafficking entitled "Not for Sale" was launched in 2016 by IOM Tunisia in cooperation with the Tunisian Ministry of Justice. In January 2012, Eurojust’s Trafficking and Related Crimes Team initiated a strategic project entitled Eurojust’s action against trafficking in human beings. This manual primarily offers information on what human trafficking is and how the national referral mechanisms of Belgium, the Netherlands and Hungary work and what the linkages between them are. It provides practical information for experts involved in the identification, referral and assistance of victims of human trafficking on the nature of human trafficking as well as effective ways of victims’ referral and assistance.

This booklet aims to highlight the main results and impact of the King Baudouin Foundation's project "Trafficking Victims Re/integration programme" in the lives of trafficked persons as well as more generally in the field of re/integration in the Balkans. It summarises the overall assessment conducted in 2014 through interviews of beneficiaries, partner NGOs, experts and government officials as well as other sources of data.

This joint report aims to gather and share the lessons learnt through the implementation of CARE and TACT projects, which objectives are to enhance the safe and sustainable return and reintegration process of returning victims of trafficking. The report also suggests a way forward for the establishment of transnational referral mechanisms between EU MS and third countries.

The study examined 43 prevention initiatives, of which a share of 40% concerned actions in Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary. The vast majority of the (cca 85 %) in the given sample targeted information and awareness‑raising measures, followed by capacity‑building and research and education programmes. Among the key findings of the study is that there is no go-standard for assessing the impact of prevention actions but rather a comprehensive and contextual approach should be followed.

These present guiding principles are intended for use by state authorities and civil society bodies, as well as inter-governmental organizations in the OSCE region involved in developing, applying, evaluating and reforming national laws, policies and practices related to trafficking, in particular to the return of trafficked persons. They provide the target audience with guidance that can be used to direct policies, procedures and practices on the return process, as well as an overview of relevant international standards. The guiding principles can also serve as an advocacy tool for civil society organizations that support a rights-based approach to combating trafficking.

This document aims to assist in these efforts by focusing on how States can operationalize the best interests principle set forth in Article 3.1 in the CRC, which states that “The best interests of the child shall be a primary consideration in all actions affecting children.”

The aim of the methodology is to support social workers in The Netherlands to discuss the topic of return with foreign victims of trafficking and domestic violence and to support their reintegration in the country of origin. In search of a job to support his family, a man accepts an offer from a recruiter and signs a contract for what looks like a good job with decent wages. Once at destination, the reality is very different.

The handbook employs a bottom-up approach in order to raise the awareness of health care professionals to THB, thereby enticing them to participate in local networks with social workers to complement centralised top-down action by national governments.

This report presents the key issues and challenges drawn from the interventions and discussions of key players at the seminar on Co-operation to Prevent Trafficking in Human Beings in the Mediterranean Region organized by the OSR/CTHB, which took place in Rome on 8 February 2013. This toolkit follows on from the comparative study Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Measures for the Integration of Trafficked Persons. It is designed as a practical booklet for practitioners, bringing together basic information on the integration systems available to VoTs in the five participating countries (Belgium, France, Hungary, Italy and the United Kingdom) as well as examples of successful practices they implement in this field.

This document provides a practical and comprehensive overview of victims' rights based on the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, EU directives, framework decisions and European Court of Human Rights case law. This overview can be used by victims and practitioners working in the field of trafficking in human beings and aims at contributing to the effective realisation of these rights by helping authorities in the Member States to deliver the assistance and protection that victims need and deserve.

The project “GATE - Guardians Against Trafficking and Exploitation” aims to increase the capacity of the guardianship systems in 4 EU countries (Italy, Greece, Cyprus, the Netherlands) to protect separated children against trafficking and exploitation.

Based on more than 100 interviews with service providers, policymakers and former victims of trafficking, the study analyses and compares the integration measures dedicated to victims of trafficking in the five case countries (Belgium, France, Hungary, Italy and the United Kingdom). It also provides recommendations to enhance the integration of victims of trafficking in host countries.

On 19 June 2012, the European Commission adopted the "EU Strategy towards the Eradication of Trafficking in Human Beings (2012-2016)”. The Strategy is a set of concrete and practical measures to be implemented over the next five years.
It is based on five key priorities:
- Identifying, protecting and assisting victims of trafficking;
- Stepping up the prevention of trafficking in human beings;
- Increased prosecution of traffickers;
- Enhanced coordination and cooperation among key actors and policy coherence;

Filmed on five continents, in a dozen countries, Not My Life takes viewers into a world where millions of children are exploited, every day, through an astonishing array of practices including forced labor, domestic servitude, begging, sex tourism, sexual violence, and child soldiering.

The Handbook outlines legislation and best practice and it intends to contribute to shaping curricula for diplomatic and consular personnel. It has been designed both to complement the training programme and as a stand-alone, practical and illustrative guide when dealing with suspected and proven cases of human trafficking. It provides the reader with concrete advice on how to identify and assist victims of human trafficking and considerations for conducting interviews with potential victims.

This directive represents a critical step in the EU efforts in addressing human trafficking comprehensively. It establishes common standards for the prevention of trafficking in human beings and for the protection of victims, adopting a human-right based approach. The directive also contains practical measures to be implemented in the EU member stats, such as the appointment of a national coordinator and establishment of national rapporteur (or equivalent mechanism).

This report comes from the International Conference “Best practices in the implementation of National Referral Mechanisms/Systems for Protection and Assistance of Victims of Human Trafficking”, organized by the IOM office in Moldova. The Conference provided a platform for counter-trafficking actors from different countries to share their experience in fighting human trafficking and protecting and assisting victims of the modern day slavery, including through the implementation of National Referral Mechanisms – cooperative frameworks through which states actors fulfil their obligations to protect and promote the human rights of trafficked persons, coordinating their efforts in strategic partnership with civil society.

The main objective of the toolkit is to guide the assessors in gathering and analyzing information pertaining to a country's criminal justice response to human trafficking. More specifically, it aims to assist governments, the civil society, the international community and other relevant actors to conduct a comprehensive or specific assessment of selected aspects of a country's criminal justice response to trafficking in persons.

This manual covers definitional issues, outlines the stages of trafficking and describes what psychosocial services should be in place for victims of trafficking. It has detailed chapters on interviewing, referral processes and record keeping. The data in the report focus on the Greater Mekong Region and Indonesia but the principles are applicable for all victims of trafficking.

It reviews the current responses by government and non-government institutions to the problems and needs of trafficked persons. The overall aim of the report is to assist Ukraine in strengthening the capacity of the systems to identify and refer trafficked persons for assistance, protect their rights and ensure their access to justice.

The following guidelines set out standards for good practice with respect to protection of and assistance to trafficked children. The aim of these guidelines is to assist governments and State actors, international organizations and NGOs or other service providers. The main responsibility for protection of victims lies with the government. In situations where the government lacks or has insufficient capacity to fulfil its responsibility, such duty may be delegated to or shared with international organizations and NGOs.

This guide has been designed as a tool that provides:
- A deeper understanding of the business of trafficking

The Convention has a comprehensive scope of application, encompassing all forms of trafficking (whether national or transnational, linked or not linked to organised crime) and taking in all persons who are victims of trafficking (women, men or children). The forms of exploitation covered by the Convention are, at a minimum, sexual exploitation, forced labour or services, slavery or practices similar to slavery, servitude and the removal of organs. An important added value of the Convention is the monitoring system set up to supervise the implementation of the obligations contained in it, which consists of two pillars: the Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA) and the Committee of the Parties.

This handbook provides guidance on how to design and implement sustainable mechanisms and structures to combat human trafficking and support victims. It also provides guidance on how to monitor and build the capacity of such mechanisms and structures. The implementation of a comprehensive rights-based anti-trafficking policy should be seen as an element of democratic and transparent governance based on the rule of law. Thus, a crucial prerequisite of effective measures is the building and strengthening of relevant local and national institutions. This handbook provides guidance on how to design and implement sustainable mechanisms and structures to combat human trafficking and support victims. It also provides guidance on how to monitor and build the capacity of such mechanisms and structures.

This manual gathers a set of recommendations intended primarily for use by researchers, members of the media and service providers unfamiliar with the situation of trafficked victims. These recommendations are based on a set of 10 guiding principles for the ethical and safe conduct of interviews with women who have been trafficked. Even though the recommendations are focused on female victims, they apply also to other victims of human trafficking.

In cooperation with the IOM and Save the Children UK, the UN-IAP Sub-Mekong Region undertook a three day workshop in March 2001, the main focus of which was the return and reintegration of trafficked women and children. The workshop was a collaborative effort, which underscored the importance of regional and inter-agency approaches in addressing the problem of trafficking. This manual is a draft version based on the first workshop held in Myanmar and is meant for use by those involved in return and reintegration of trafficked women and children.

The Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, especially Women and Children, is the first global legally binding instrument with an agreed definition on trafficking in persons. The intention behind this definition is to facilitate convergence in national approaches with regard to the establishment of domestic criminal offences that would support efficient international cooperation in investigating and prosecuting trafficking in persons cases. An additional objective of the Protocol is to protect and assist the victims of trafficking in persons with full respect for their human rights.
